Story : Jaywant Dalvi’s play, based on his own
novel “Runanubandha”, explores the grey world of a
couple whose only child is mentally retarded. As the
title suggests, Natigoti is about relationships -
between husband and wife, between parents and son, between office colleagues. Its unfortunate people, its morbid strain, its strong sexual undercurrent, are all
typical facets of Dalvi’s work, with one important
difference - Natigoti ends on an intensely cheerful
note, with the couple getting ready to begin a new life.
